Guangdong-style Baked Chicken with Five-Finger Peach

Ingredients:
Salt (to taste)
1 chicken
1-2 tablespoons light soy sauce
Cooking wine (to taste)
Ginger (to taste)
Garlic (to taste)
Green and red bell peppers (to taste)
2 bundles of five-finger peach (a type of medicinal herb)

Soak the Five-finger Citrus Root for 30 minutes, then steam it for 10 minutes.

Marinate the chicken with salt, light soy sauce, Maggi sauce, and cornstarch.

Prepare the side ingredients, such as ginger and garlic.

Prepare the “soul sauce”: mix light soy sauce, a dash of oyster sauce, Chinese cooking wine, and white pepper.

Heat some oil in a wok, add the garlic and ginger, and sauté the chicken until fragrant.

Add the Five-finger Citrus Root and continue stir-frying to let the aroma infuse into the chicken. Give it a few more tosses, pour in the “soul sauce,” and add two splashes of cooking wine. Finally, cover and simmer for 3 minutes.
